From its humble beginnings in 1978, Gem City Plastic Machinery (GCPM) has been a pillar in providing quality products and outstanding customer service to the plastics and industrial community throughout the Greater Ohio Valley Region and New York.
In 1978, Tom Rajkovich founded what is now known as Gem City Plastic Machinery out of Dayton, Ohio. The name “Gem City” was derived from the nickname given to Dayton in 1845 due to the city’s immaculate upkeep.
In its infancy, GCPM needed a Thermal Fluid System manufacturer to complement their other principal product lines. In a fortunate turn of events, a competing representative firm decided to switch from representing Mokon to a competitor brand. This firm had a good relationship with GCPM and recommended Mokon hire GCPM to represent their product. The rest, as they say, is history!
Around the same time, Nick Rajkovich, Tom’s brother, was asked to join the firm due to his location in Cleveland, Ohio. This gave GCPM greater reach across more territory.
In 1980, Nick Rajkovich assumed ownership of GCPM, growing the company to what it is today while maintaining its family-operated business model. Andrew Rajkovich, nephew to Nick and Tom, will be taking the reins in 2025, continuing the legacy.
For almost 50 years, GCPM has continued to provide top-quality products to industry. Many of their principals, including Mokon, have remained by their side since the beginning.
GCPM covers Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Western Pennsylvania, and New York. Five representatives throughout this area can provide local, hands-on assistance for your application needs. Please give us a call!
