Mokon has designed a custom 5 Ton Low Temperature Xtreme-Therm Water-Cooled Chiller for an OEM customer, capable of operating at fluid temperatures from -20°F to 20°F (-29°C to -7°C). This custom design features a NEMA/Type 4 rated electrical enclosure with an X purge system suitable for Class 1 Division 1 area and T2 code. The system includes a sealed mechanical compartment and a Watlow microprocessor PID controller with Ethernet I/P capabilities for remote setpoint control and retransmission.
The system meets end-user requirements through its water-cooled condensing system, delivering 29,830 BTU/Hr of cooling at -20°F. It incorporates a 3 Hp TEFC chiller pump/motor and a 9 Hp semi-hermetically sealed compressor. Standard features include an efficient brazed plate evaporator, hot gas bypass circuitry, water regulating valve, flow switch protection, CPR valve, and branch circuit fusing.
